I shouldn't be, but I'm astounded at the unabashed propagandizing Don Shelby and the folks at WCCO manage to air day in and day out. The most irritating is their "Fact Check" which should be called "Spin Zone." Not too long ago they had such a segment on President Obama's lavish inauguration, twisting the figures to conclude that his celebration was less costly than President Bush's in 2004.
As far as reporting the news, Don Shelby, the anchorman for the nightly broadcast, uses shameless vocal inflection and facial expressions to convey what his partisan copy might fail to do on its own. The ham-handed delivery of each night's 'news' would be comic if it didn't come as a reportedly reputable broadcast devoid of satire.
I realize that most of the media is 'in the tank' for the liberal establishment, but some do a better job of feigning objectivity. If the Un-Fairness Doctrine is revived, I'll be getting petitions signed to have Rush Limbaugh on WCCO for every minute of air time Don Shelby occupies.
